Babblebook

Privacy Policy

Babblebook stores everything you record — audio, cover photos, the names you assign to recordings, and each child's name and birthday — on your device. The developer does not collect, receive, or have access to your data.

Optional iCloud Sync (off by default). If you turn iCloud Sync on in Settings, Babblebook copies your collections, recordings, and cover photos to your own iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit service, so your data syncs across your devices and is preserved if you restore or set up a new device. The data lives within your iCloud storage quota and is governed by Apple's iCloud terms and privacy policy. The developer does not have access to anything stored in iCloud.

Family Sharing (opt-in, per collection). You can share an individual collection with people you choose — a partner, grandparent, or other family member — by sending them an invite from the share sheet. Each recipient accepts on their own Apple ID. You can invite collaborators with listen-only access (they can play recordings) or with full access (they can add and edit recordings); you choose the role per invite and can change or revoke access at any time from the iOS share controls. Apple handles share delivery and access enforcement via CloudKit; the developer is not involved.

Permissions. The microphone, camera, and photo library are only accessed when you initiate a feature that needs them — recording a word, taking a cover photo, or picking one from your library.

Background activity. When iCloud Sync is on, the app receives silent push notifications from Apple's CloudKit so it can pull in changes made on your other devices or by family collaborators. These notifications never produce visible alerts or sound. The app does not run in the background otherwise.

No analytics, no trackers, no advertising, no third parties. There are no analytics SDKs, advertising networks, crash reporters, or third-party services embedded in the app. The only network traffic Babblebook initiates is to Apple's CloudKit servers, and only when you have iCloud Sync enabled.

In-app purchases. Babblebook Pro is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple via the App Store. The developer does not collect or store any payment information.

Apple's role. Apple may collect certain usage and diagnostic data through the App Store and iOS platform, and processes anything you choose to store in iCloud / CloudKit. This is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy at apple.com/privacy.
